Dumfries set to host World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2024 

The World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2024 will take place from Sunday 1 December until Saturday 7 December at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland. This open entry event will see the final four teams qualify for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025 which are to be held in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada from 26 April until 3 May 2025. 

A total of 29 teams have been divided into four groups and will play in a round-robin format, after which, the top two teams from each group progress to the play-offs. A series of qualification games will then determine the four World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship qualifiers. The play-off bracket can be found here

The groups are as follows: 

Group A: Belgium, Hong Kong China, Hungary, Jamaica, Latvia, Romania and Slovakia 

Group B: Austria, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye  

Group C: Brazil, Chinese Taipei, England, Greece, Guyana, Slovenia and Spain 

Group D: Finland, India, Lithuania, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico and Ukraine

Round-robin play begins at 19:30 on Sunday 1 December and continues until Thursday 5 December, with the last session starting at 16:00. The first two qualification sessions will take place on Friday 6 December at 10:00 and 15:00, with the third qualification session beginning at 10:00 on Saturday 7 December.  

Currently, 16 teams have secured their spot in next year’s championship following their result in the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2024. These teams are: Australia, Canada, China, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and United States. 

All games will be streamed on the Curling Stadium Europe website.
