Open call for nominations at World Curling

Following the Annual General Assembly of the World Curling Federation, the Board are looking for nominations for the following positions:

Open positions available by election

The filling of a vacancy on the Board is covered under the Constitution as follows:

6.1. Vacancies of more than 6 months

6.1.1. If a vacancy arises on the Board for any reason and there is a period of more than 6 months until the next General Assembly then the Board will arrange an electronic ballot of the members. A process for the ballot will be approved by the Board that ensures that as far as possible the principles of this bye-law are followed

The Board has approved a slightly shorter timescale for the election for the Board vacancy to enable the new Board member to be elected by 31 December 2022. The same timelines will be used to elect the new members of the Competition and Rules Commission.

Nominations open: 3 October 2022

Nominations close: 31 October 2022

Candidate information will be circulated to Member Associations by 21 November 2022.

Ballot Papers will be sent out*: 1 December 2022

Ballot Papers must be returned by 1200 GMT*: 30 December 2022

* the final voting process will depend on the number of candidates.

Open positions available by appointment

Please note for the position on the Governance Commission this is currently held by Gregor Rigler (SLO) who is eligible for a second term and has indicated he will be standing.

For the positions that are filled by appointment by the Board the following timelines will be used.

Nominations open: 3 October 2022

Nominations close: 31 October 2022

Decision by the Board: by 30 November 2022

The Declaration of Candidature for all positions is available here. Please make sure that you attach to your candidature the following documents:

• a CV (not longer than two pages) detailing relevant professional, sport and voluntary experience. For the Director’s position the CV should highlight the top three skills that you will bring to the position, along with evidence of competency, from those listed in the WCF Board Skill Matrix.

• a recent passport sized colour photograph

• a covering letter (not more than one page) on your motivation for seeking election / appointment to the position.
