“I love playing in front of a crowd” GB skip soaking up YOG experience
With just one session today (21 January) China and United States lead Group A with three wins. China defeated New Zealand 9-1 while United States beat Türkiye 8-2.
Japan picked up their second win, with a 10-2 victory against Sweden, meanwhile Norway earned their first win of the Games, 21-0 against Nigeria.
Both Nigeria and New Zealand are currently looking for their first win, with three losses.

Group B
Round robin continued with two sessions from Group B. Germany opened their day with a win against Great Britain, 7-4, helped by a strong seventh and eighth end.
“We had a tough start yesterday versus Switzerland and we weren’t used to the ice yet,” said Germany’s skip Lukas Jaeger. “But today was a good day, we are looking forward to the next games.”
The skip is enjoying his time in Gangneung, meeting athletes from different sports and taking in the Olympic village atmosphere.
“The village has pretty good food, lots of variety,” he shared. “The accommodation is comfortable and there are a lot people around us to talk to. We have a lot of cool athletes in our Team Deutschland house and a lot of different sports – it’s a lot of fun!”

In the evening session, games were a tighter affair with three games coming down to the final stones.
Italy now top the group, after winning against Germany 7-5. Denmark, Great Britain and Switzerland are in second place with two wins and one loss.
In a tight battle, Great Britain made a handful of highlight reel shots to hand Canada their second loss, 6-3.
“It’s good to get a win against such a big nation and I feel like we controlled the game and we got what we deserved in the end,” said Great Britain skip Logan Carson.
“I love playing in front of a crowd and I definitely feed off that [energy], I think we all do, it’s great to see so many people here.”
“A few easier shots for two would be nice but if I keep throwing them like that then we have a good chance. Every win is huge at the moment because there were six teams with all the same record.”
Switzerland’s skip Nathan Dryburgh commented on their 8-4 win against the hosts, “We are more confident because we won that game and it’s a whole new tournament starting for us.’
