World Curling and ISS announce multi-year partnership
World Curling and ISS today announce a multi-year partnership that will see ISS become the federation’s Official Ice Production Partner.
ISS are a pioneer in ice rink systems that have been used from the Olympic Winter Games to blockbuster movie sets. The ICEGRID artificial ice rink system created by ISS — used for curling at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games — brings a more sustainable and consistent approach to the production of curling ice, allowing World Curling to work towards our commitment to developing sustainable curling facilities around the world.
World Curling Commercial Partnerships Manager James Beatt said, “Ice production is an energy intensive process. This partnership will give World Curling the opportunity to carry out that fundamental requirement of our sport in a more sustainable and efficient manner. As this partnership develops it will become a positive resource for our Member Associations and the wider curling community.”
ISS CEO Said Hakim said, “We are proud to be named as the exclusive Ice Production Partner of World Curling. Our relationship with World Curling has been developing for several years and we are excited to be more effective in our processes within the sport of curling.
“ISS recognise the importance of providing World Curling with the highest level of ice performance, utilising our energy efficient patented ICEGRID operation. We look forward to working across venues around the world in partnership with World Curling.”
