Dumfries set to host World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event this week
The World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event is taking place from Saturday 2 December until Thursday 7 December at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Scotland.
This open-entry event will see the final four teams qualify for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2024 being held in Oestersund, Sweden from 20-27 April.
A total of 26 teams are divided into four groups, where they will play a round-robin format. All games will be streamed on the Curling Stadium Europe.
The groups are as follows:
Group A: Germany, India, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Chinese Taipei and Ukraine
Group B: Austria, China, France, Jamaica, Poland, Portugal and Wales
Group C: England, Guyana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Mexico and Slovenia
Group D: Belgium, Brazil, Finland, Lithuania, New Zealand and Slovakia

After the round-robin stage, the top two teams in each group will progress to the play-offs. A series of play-off games will then determine the four World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship qualifiers. The play-off tree can be found here.
Round-robin play begins at 17:00 on Saturday 2 December and goes until 19:30 on Tuesday 5 December. The qualification games will take place on Wednesday 6 December at 10:00 and the final game will be at 10:00 on Thursday 7 December.
Currently, 16 teams have secured their spot in the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship: Australia, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, Türkiye and United States.
