The World Curling Federation is pleased to announce the appointment of James Beatt as Commercial Partnerships Manager and Rob Gordon as Athlete Support Officer.

James Beatt will be tasked with identifying, analysing and pursuing business growth and revenue generation through business partnerships and alliances, the development of new products and activities and constructing revenue share deals for the Federation.

Beatt earned his postgraduate degree at the University of the West of England in business management.

He has been working in the sports business industry for over ten years in various roles across Europe and Asia, generating revenues for a variety of sports rightsholders. More recently, he was responsible for driving global user- and revenue-growth for a virtual health and fitness platform upon returning to the United Kingdom.

In his role as Commercial Partnerships Manager at the World Curling Federation, Beatt will develop commercial opportunities and work with stakeholders to develop and support projects from concept to stand-alone operation.

Following his appointment, James Beatt said, “I am very excited to join the team and work with the World Curling eco-system that is seeing new directions of travel across all commercial aspects. I feel this is an opportune time to be part of the Federation and look forward to making an impact in an advancing sport.”

After his appointment, Rob Gordon said, “I am extremely excited to join the World Curling Federation as their Athlete Support Officer. I am looking forward to working with the athlete community, the Athlete Commission, along with various other stakeholders on projects relating to athletes and events.

“I am passionate about the sport of curling, and grateful for the opportunity to assist in the games’ growth and sustainability worldwide.”

World Curling Federation Secretary General, Colin Grahamslaw said, “We are delighted to have James and Rob join the staff. These are positions that have been created in direct response to the Board’s Big Ideas programme and both positions will have a  direct impact on the services we can offer our members and athletes.

“These are important appointments if the sport is to continue the growth it has enjoyed since returning to the Olympic programme in 1998. Both James and Rob bring a wealth of experience to the World Curling Federation and we look forward to seeing the impact they will have.”
