As a coach and instructor, he has worked with the 2014 Olympic Champion, Jennifer Jones from Canada and coached the Great Britain men’s team at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

He is currently the national coach of the Swiss Curling Association, who won gold at the World Women’s and bronze and the World Men’s Championships this season.

As a coach, Sherry has worked with Team Tracy Fleury from Northern Ontario and taught at the HOT SHOTS Curling Camps in Canada. Both her daughters are competitive curlers and her husband, Wayne Middaugh is a three-time world champion and former coach of Sweden’s Team Anna Hasselborg.

“We’re thrilled to have these three elite curlers join our instructional team in Prague this summer,” said Camp Director David Gravelle. “Besides being tremendous athletes, their teaching skills are sought after both at the high performance and recreational level.

Additional camp instructors will be announced soon.

The World Curling Federation Adult Camp will take place from 29 to 31 August 2023 at the Roztyly Curling Hall in Prague.

WOW! Special Event Management has staged the HOT SHOTS Curling Camps in Canada and the United States since 1995. Over 3,500 campers have attended the summer and autumn clinics. The camp curriculum and world-class instruction have elevated the play of participants and provided campers with the tools to become ambassadors for the sport at the club level.

“Coming out of the pandemic, we have seen a great interest in adult curling education, as most of our North American camps are nearing sell-out,” said Gravelle. “We’re excited that our proven curriculum and effective teaching style will elevate the play of international recreational curlers.

“Our adult camps are three-days of intense, yet fun clinics which cover all aspects of the game from a solid, balanced delivery to effective sweeping techniques,” Gravelle added. “We also focus on team-building, team communication and lots of strategy — both for beginners and advanced players. Our game situation analysis on the final day, with our instructors providing on-ice coaching, is always a highlight of the camp.”

The entry fee for the camp is $USD 999 and includes all meals, snacks, camp instruction and two evening excursions — a river dinner cruise of historic Prague and a brewery tour and dinner. Accommodations and travel to the camp in Prague are not included.
