Gold Medal Game is TIED
United States managed to steal one in the eighth end of the gold medal game to tie the game and take it to an EXTRA end. Latvia will have the hammer. The suspense in the building is palpable!
Nearing the End
We are nearing the end of World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles play as Latvia and United States are in the seventh end, and Canada and China are in the eighth end.
The winners and medallists will soon be determined!
Power Plays Initiated
The current scores are:
- Latvia 5-4 United States (after five)
- Canada 11-10 China (after six)
With both leaders being just one point above the opposition, Latvia and Canada have decided to initiate their power plays.
Fans in the House
As the home team, Canada has been fortunate to have tens of people out here at the Richmond Curling Centre to cheer them on, both on and off the ice. They are definitely the loudest fans in the building!
For All the Marbles
Team Player
Curling fans with a keen eye will have noticed that Latvia’s Agris Lasmans played in both the four-person team and mixed doubles championships here in Richmond. Well, that wasn’t the original plan!
It turns out, Polina Rozkova’s original mixed doubles partner had an accident shortly before the start of the championship, making him unable to play. Not wanting to see his fellow Latvian have to forfeit, Agris Lasmans stepped up and played in both championships.
What’s even more impressive is that he and Polina are now competing in the GOLD medal game! It just goes to show what perseverance, dedication and most importantly, teamwork, can accomplish in sport.

Canada Hit For FIVE
Canada’s Collinda Joseph made a perfect hit to score FIVE in the opening end of their game against China. Her partner Dennis Thiessen raised his hand in the air in celebration.

Mixed Doubles FINALS
The mixed doubles bronze and gold medal games are underway! In the bronze medal game are Canada and China. In the gold medal game are Latvia and United States.
Who are you cheering for?
