Successful Wheelchair Curling Classifier Course held in Lohja, Finland

On 2 and 3 November, a Wheelchair Curling Classifier course took place in Lohja, Finland.

The course’s objective was to educate new classifiers for the World Curling Federation. The course was conducted by WCF Senior Classifiers, Dr. Emilie Newell (CAN) and Roman Suda (CZE).

The first day of the course was about the classification theory of the athletes’ evaluation and the Classification rules. The second day was dedicated to a practical workshop and classification in competition.

Successful Participants:

Tove Guldfeldt (GER) – WCF Certified Classifier Level I.

So Yeon Park (KOR) – WCF Certified Classifier Level I.

Lee Hyejin – WCF Classifier Trainee

The next Wheelchair Curling Classifier Course is planned to take place from 1 to 3 March 2023 in Richmond, Canada and it is open to any certified health professional in a field relevant to the Eligible Impairment category such as physician, physiotherapist or occupational therapist for athletes with a physical impairment.
