United States, Latvia and France qualify for World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2027
At the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2026–2027 held in Colorado, 26 teams competed at the Rock Creek Curling Club for the three remaining spots in January’s World Championship.
United States, Latvia and France all qualified for World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2027 in Lohja, Finland following their medal winning performances.
After the round-robin stage, eight teams qualified for the quarter-finals before four progressed onto the semi-finals. In the first semi-final, Latvia beat France, by 8–5, before United States were 8–6 winners over Poland in the second semi-final.
Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin of the United States came out victorious in the Gold Medal game against Latvia’s Katrina Gaidule and Roberts Reinis Buncis, winning 8–6.
In the Bronze Medal game, France’s Stephanie Barbarin and Wilfrid Coulot booked their place at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship (WMDCC) with a 7–6 victory over Klaudia Wajda and Konrad Stych from Poland.
The three nations will join Finland (hosts), Australia, Sweden, Canada, Italy, Japan, Scotland, Estonia, Switzerland, Norway, Korea, Czechia, China, Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and New Zealand in Lohja for the WMDCC, which will be held at the Kisakallio Campus between 4–10 January 2027.
