World Curling confirm commission appointments

Following a call for nominations for positions in the various World Curling Commissions, the Board have today (Monday 8 December) confirmed appointments to five commissions.

Governance and Finance Commissions

Ray Baker (Canada) has now joined the Governance Commission, while Gyorgy Nagy (Hungary) and Gary Coombs (Wales) have joined the Finance Commission.

Technical Commission

The Technical Commission has had three members confirmed. Lajos Belleli (Qatar) will return to the Commission and will be joined by new members, Remy St Pierre (Canada) and Wang Bingyu (China).

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group was given full Commission status at the recent World Curling Congress in September. Seven appointments to the newly formed commission have been confirmed. They are:

  • Simon Barrick (Canada)
  • Elton Oliveira Silva (Brazil)
  • Wang Yiwa (China)
  • P.N. Raju (India)
  • Eoin McCrossan (Ireland)
  • Heather Mair (Canada)
  • Harold Woods III (Nigeria)

Sustainability Commission

The Sustainability Working group was also given full Commission status at the World Curling Congress in September. The newly comfirmed members of this commission are:

  • Lauri Ikavalko (Finland)
  • Vera Kalocsai-van Dorp (Hungary)
  • Hoon Kim (Korea)
  • Heather Mair (Canada)
  • Suwanna Silpa-archa (Thailand)
