Argentina joins World Curling as Member Association
World Curling is delighted to welcome Argentina as the newest Member Association, bringing the total number to 77.
Argentine Curling Federation was officially launched in June 2025 and currently has about 30 active curlers who work to increase participation and awareness of the sport throughout the country.
In September 2025, Argentina formed its first team that competed and finished runners-up at the Fort Wayne Curling Club End of Summer Spiel.
Beau Welling, World Curling President, said, “We are thrilled to have Argentina join as World Curling’s newest Member Association. To see our sport growing and expanding in non-traditional areas around the world, especially in a nation with such a robust history of sporting success, is incredibly exciting.”
Alejandro Almada, Argentine Curling Federation President, said, “For us, it is an honour to join World Curling and become part of the international curling community. This recognition reinforces our commitment to working collaboratively, learning from global best practices, and continuing to promote the growth of curling in Argentina.”
