Saint John, located on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, has previously hosted two World Curling events: first the World Men’s and World Women’s Championships 1999 when they were combined events, and then the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship 15 years later in 2014.

BKT has once again been named as title sponsor, continuing their strong partnership with World Curling and Curling Canada. This marks the fifth consecutive world championship in Canada with BKT as the title sponsor.

Eeva Röthlisberger, World Curling’s Head of Competitions, said, “It has been over ten years since we hosted a World Curling event in Saint John and we are looking forward to returning for the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship in 2027.

“Previous events hosted there have been a major success, and we are certain together we will produce a fantastic competition for the top men’s teams in the world.”

Nolan Thiessen, Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada, said, “This is truly a good-news day all around, and we’re very thankful to our partners at both World Curling and BKT for their continued faith in our ability and commitment to hosting world-class championship events.

“The bid from Saint John was superb, and based on that community’s support of major events in the past, and support of the City of Saint John and Province of New Brunswick, we’re confident that the 2027 BKT World Men’s Curling Championship will be a major success on and off the ice.”
