Inaugural Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship to begin in Edmonton, Canada

The final World Curling event of Season 2024-2025 will begin on Tuesday 6 May 2025 as teams from around the world come together in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025.

This will be the first time junior teams have the chance to compete in the mixed doubles discipline at world level, following the success of mixed doubles at both the Youth Olympic Games in 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024.

The event is open-entry with 29 teams competing: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Czechia, Denmark, England, Spain, Germany, Hong Kong China, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Latvia, Nigeria, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Türkiye, Ukraine and United States.

Playing format

Teams will be split into four groups where they will compete in a round-robin format from Tuesday 6 May until Saturday 10 May. After this, the teams ranked first and second in each group will qualify directly for the play-offs and be ranked 1-8 to determine the match-ups. The play-offs will take place on the Saturday at 18:00.

The winners of these play-offs will qualify for the semi-finals on Sunday 11 May at 10:00, whilst the losers will be eliminated and ranked as per World Curling rules.

The winners of the semi-final games will play in the gold medal game and the losers will compete for the bronze medals on the Sunday at 15:00.
