Taarnby, Denmark to host World Junior Curling Championships 2026
Taarnby, Denmark is set to host the 2026 edition of the World Junior Curling Championships. The competition will take place from 24 February until 3 March 2026.
The event’s most recent instalment, which took place in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy in April, saw Korea women and Italy men take home the gold medals and world titles.
In 2026, the championships will be staged in Taarnby, a Danish town located about 6.5 kilometres south of Copenhagen, on the island of Amager. Taarnby Curling Club, where the event will take place, boasts modern facilities and equipment, including their seven-sheet rink.
Taarnby Curling Club has previously hosted several significant World Curling competitions, including the World Senior Curling Championships 2012, the European Mixed Curling Championship 2014, the European Junior Challenge Competition 2012 and the VoIP Defender World Junior Curling Championships 2016.
In addition, Denmark has staged many past World Curling events, including most recently, the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2015 in Esbjerg and the World Women’s Curling Championship 2019 in Silkeborg.
In January, it was announced that Gray Dawes would become an official sponsor of the World Junior Curling Championships 2026 and 2027, allowing junior curlers a greater opportunity to participate in these championships and make use of the world class travel services Gray Dawes provide.
