Canada win bronze at BKT World Men’s Curling Championship 2025
Canada secured the bronze medal at the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship 2025 with a 11-2 win over China.
Canada opened the scoring with three points in the first end, and never looked back after that. China blanked the second end, then, in the third, China’s skip Xu Xiaoming played a draw to score one point and reduce the Canada lead to 3-1.

After this, in the next end, Canada skip Brad Jacobs also played a draw-shot, to score a game-changing five points and improve his team’s lead to 8-1.
China had last stone in the fifth end, but Xu came up short with his draw to give Canada a steal of two points and a 10-1 lead.
China then played a hit in the sixth end to score a single point and reduce Canada’s lead to 10-2.
By the time the game had reached the eighth end, Canada still led by 10-2. Canada skip Jacobs then drew into an empty house to add one more point. China conceded, with the final score confirmed as 11-2 for the Canadians to claim the bronze medals.

After the game, Canada’s Jacobs said, “We wanted to finish strong and to treat this game like any other. We’ve got a lot of respect for China; they’ve had a pretty good week to make it this deep into the play-offs.”
He added, “It was really important for us to wear that maple leaf with pride, and to get onto the podium.”
He also singled out praise for the home crowd, “It’s been an incredible week, with that crowd cheering behind us.”
The bronze medallist Canadian team are: skip Brad Jacobs, third Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, lead Ben Hebert, alternate Tyler Tardi and team coach Paul Webster.
