Canada win World Wheelchair bronze
Canada took on Slovakia for the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2025 bronze medals in the Auchenharvie Leisure Centre.
After a first blank end, Canada scored one with a hit-and-stay by fourth player Jon Thurston.
After the third was blanked, Slovakia had a chance to score two, but Peter Zatko’s shooter rolled out, and Slovakia only scored a single from a stone already sitting in the house. 1-1 at the break.

The fifth end was blanked. In the sixth, Canada put one on the board after a hit by Thurston.
In the seventh, Slovakia had another chance to score two, but once again, Peter Zatko’s shooter rolled out, and they only scored a single. 2-2, going into the eighth. Canada scored two in the eighth to win the game, 4-2, and take the bronze medals.
After their win, Canada’s Collinda Joseph said, “I feel amazing! It’s been a really great week and the team played fantastic. We had a number of up-and-downs this week, so to walk away with the bronze medal is icing on the cake I think.”
Talking about the game against Slovakia, she added, “They were so good, they didn’t miss anything. It was a back-and-forth battle, we all just stuck to our guns and played really well. Both teams executed really well, so to come away with a win against a team like that today was fantastic. So great!”

The bronze medal winning Canadian team are skip Gil Dash, fourth Jon Thurston, second Douglas Dean and lead Collinda Joseph, supported by alternate Chrissy Molnar and coach Mick Lizmore.
The gold medal final between China and Korea will take place on Saturday at 14:30 (GMT).
