Court of Arbitration for Sport Arbitral Award — Briane Harris
Following the completion of the Court of Arbitration for Sport appeal process, the full decision regarding the anti-doping case between World Curling and Briane Harris from Canada can now be released.
In the decision made in January 2025, The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that:
- The Request for Arbitration filed on 9 May 2024 by the World Curling Federation is partially upheld
- Ms Briane Harris is found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation in accordance with Articles 2.1 and 2.2 of the World Curling Federation Anti-Doping Rules (the “WCF ADR”)
- Ms Briane Harris has established in accordance with Article 10.5 of the WCF ADR that she bears No Fault or Negligence for the anti-doping rule violation. No period of Ineligibility is imposed
- The costs of the arbitration shall be determined in accordance with Article A24 of the ADD Rules, if necessary
- Each party shall bear their own legal costs and other expenses incurred in connection with this arbitration
- All other motions or prayers for relief are dismissed
