Milano Cortina 2026 – One year to go
The countdown is officially on as we hit exactly one year to go until the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
From 4-22 February 2026, athletes from across the world will compete in 16 Olympic disciplines including curling, which is the only sport to be played for every day of the Games.
Location
Events during the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games will take place across eight different venues, spanning the scenic northern Italy.
All curling will take place at the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The stadium, which was built to host the 1956 Olympic Winter Games, is nestled in front of the picturesque Ampezzo Dolomites and can accommodate between twelve to fifteen thousand spectators.
Other sports to be hosted in Cortina d’Ampezzo include Bobsleigh, Skeleton, Alpine Skiing and Luge.
Events
There are medals up for grabs across three Olympic events: Mixed Doubles, Men’s team and Women’s team.
Mixed Doubles
Mixed Doubles will begin on Wednesday 4 February, two days before the Games officially begin. Medal games for this event will take place on Tuesday 10 February.
Men’s and Women’s team
The men’s team round-robin play will kick off on Wednesday 11 February, with the women’s round-robin beginning the day after (Thursday 12 February). The men’s bronze medal match will take place on Friday (20 February), with the women’s bronze and men’s gold to follow on Saturday (21 February). The Olympic Winter Games curling events will conclude on Sunday (22 February) with the women’s gold medal game.

Qualification process
Italy qualify for each competition automatically as the host nation.
The eight highest ranked National Olympic Committees from a list generated by Olympic Qualification Points earned at the 2024 and 2025 women’s, men’s and mixed doubles world championships will qualify for the Olympic Winter Games. In case hosts of the Olympic Winter Games, Italy, does not finish in the top eight places of the respective discipline, only the seven highest ranked National Olympic Committees will qualify for the Olympic Winter Games through this path.

Tickets
Access to the draw is now closed, but you can still purchase your tickets for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games based on remaining availability.
Those who did register for the draw but were unsuccessful can access the priority ticket sale for the Olympic Winter Games in February 2025 (now open), whilst those who did not register can purchase remaining tickets from April 2025. Ticket sales for the Paralympic Winter Games will open in March 2025.
