World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event play-offs confirmed
Eight teams have advanced to the play-offs at the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2024 in Dumfries, Scotland. The top two teams from each group will now compete in the first round on Friday morning (6 December) at 10.00.
In this play-off format, there is an ‘A-Road’ and B-Road’ qualification route, meaning despite one loss, teams still have the chance to qualify. The final four teams secure their spots at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025 in Fredericton, Canada.
Group A: Belgium, Hong Kong China, Hungary, Jamaica, Latvia, Romania and Slovakia
Group B: Austria, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye
Group C: Brazil, Chinese Taipei, England, Greece, Guyana, Slovenia and Spain
Group D: Finland, India, Lithuania, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico and Ukraine

The play-off games will be:
Latvia versus Guyana
Türkiye versus New Zealand
Spain versus Portugal
Finland versus Slovakia

The winners of these games will play in the next ‘A-Road’ play-off round at 15:00 on Friday. At the same time, the losers drop down to play in the ‘B-Road’. The two winners from the ‘A-Road’ play-off games will qualify for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025, while the losers will drop down to the ‘B-Road’ finals on Saturday 7 December at 10:00. The two winners from this session will qualify for next year’s championship.
