Wheelchair Curling confirmed for the French Alps 2030 Paralympic Winter Games
The International Paralympic Committee today confirmed Wheelchair Curling’s participation in the 2030 Paralympic Programme.
This confirmation ensures that Wheelchair Curling will have a place at the French Alps 2030 Paralympic Winter Games and will mark the seventh consecutive appearance of curling’s para discipline since its initial inclusion at Torino 2006.
Wheelchair Curling’s next participation at the Games will see the debut of the Mixed Doubles discipline as well as the traditional mixed Team event at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
World Curling President, Beau Welling said, “We are excited to see wheelchair curling secure its future in the Paralympic Winter Games. The hard work and dedication of our athletes, staff and the enthusiasm shown by the curling community have helped shape wheelchair curling into one of the cornerstones of the Paralympic Winter Sports programme.”
Qualification for Milano Cortina 2026 is currently underway, with the teams securing their place in the Games this season at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2025 and World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025. Both events take place in Stevenston, Scotland in March 2025.
