Cortina’s Olympic venue to host World Junior Curling Championships 2025
The World Junior Curling Championships 2025 will be held in the Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy from 12–21 April.
Cortina d’Ampezzo, or simply Cortina, is situated in the Veneto region of Northern Italy in the heart of the southern Alps and only two hours north of Venice. Set in the wide and sunny Ampezzo Valley, the small town is surrounded in all directions by some of the most scenic peaks of the Dolomite mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The stadium became the symbol of the 1956 Olympic Games and saw the first woman, Giuliana Minuzzo, take the Olympic oath. The venue hosted the second ever World Mixed Doubles Championship in 2009, then hosted the World Men’s Championship in 2010 the following season.
World Curling Head of Competitions, Eeva Roethlisberger said, “We are pleased to be able to hold our World Junior Curling Championships in Cortina. This event is vitally important as it will also act as our test event for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
“The event will provide valuable insights for our local organisers and I’m positive our junior curlers are going to relish the experience of competing in the Olympic venue.”

The Championships will act as a test event for the Games and will give us valuable experiences and insight. Throughout the event, we will strive to offer the athletes, coaches and spectators the best possible conditions, enabling us to look forward to 2026’s Olympic and Paralympic competitions with confidence. We can’t wait!”
The World Junior Curling Championships 2025 will see the ten best junior women’s and junior men’s teams compete for the world title. The championships will also act as a test event for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games curling events where key areas will be evaluated prior to the Games.
