China, France, Germany and New Zealand qualify for World Mixed Doubles 2024

The 20-team field for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2024 is now set, after the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event wrapped up this week in Dumfries, Scotland.

Four teams were able to secure their Member Association a place in the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2024 being held in Oestersund, Sweden from 20-27 April: China, France, Germany and New Zealand.

Teams were split into four groups where they played a round-robin series. The top two teams from each group emerged to the play-offs.

In the ‘A-Road’ on Wednesday (6 December), Germany defeated China, 7-5, and France beat Finland, 7-4, to win the first two available spots in Oestersund.

On Thursday (7 December), New Zealand stole the win in an extra end against Finland, 6-5, and China defeated Hungary, 9-3, to claim the two ‘B-Road’ qualifiers.

20 teams will now compete at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship: Australia, Canada, China, Czechia, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye and United States.
