Winnipeg to host World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2027

The Granite Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada will play host to the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2027 taking place from 10–17 April 2027.

The Granite Curling Club is an nine-sheet facility, founded in 1880, and is the province’s oldest curling institution. The club is home to reigning Canadian Men’s National Champions, Team Dunstone, who represented Canada at the LGT World Men’s Curling Championship 2026 in Ogden, United States.

The World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2027 is the second of two editions of this event in the 2026–2027 season following the calendar restructure and will qualify teams for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2028.

Eeva Röthlisberger, World Curling Head of Competitions said, “We are delighted to be taking one of our events to such a historic venue in Winnipeg.

“Due to the calendar restructure, we are in the unusual position of having two editions of this championship in the same season. We are looking forward to holding this championship in its new slot in our season for the first time in Canada, and we’re confident The Granite Curling Club will ensure it is a fantastic championship for all involved.”

John Read, President of the Granite Curling Club said, “The Granite Curling Club, aka ‘The Mother Club’, is thrilled to have been chosen to host the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2027. Our 146 year history includes many landmark curling events, and this event will add to our rich legacy.”
