One year to go until Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games

There is officially only one year left until the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games begins!

Wheelchair curling is one of six Paralympic sports included in the prestigious event, which runs from 4-15 March 2026. Curling fans are in luck, as wheelchair curling is the only sport to start two days before the official opening ceremony, and to happen every day of the event.

Location

Paralympic events take place all across northern Italy, but wheelchair curling will be the star of the show at Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The venue, which can accommodate between twelve to fifteen thousand spectators, will also serve as location for the Paralympic Winter Games Closing Ceremony on Sunday 15 March.

Events

Mixed Doubles

The Mixed Doubles round-robin competition begins on Wednesday 4 March, with the semi-finals taking place on Tuesday 10 March. The bronze and gold medal games then follow on Wednesday 11 March.

Mixed Team

Mixed team round-robin play will commence on Saturday 7 March. The semi-final games will take place on Friday 13 March, along with the bronze medal game. Wheelchair curling at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games then concludes with the mixed team gold medal match on Saturday 14 March.

Qualification Process

Italy automatically qualify for each competition as hosts.

The nine highest ranked member associations on the Paralympic Qualification Points List closing after the 2025 World Wheelchair Curling Championships will each obtain one mixed team qualification slot for their National Paralympic Committee.

The seven highest ranked member associations on the Paralympic Qualification Points List closing after the 2025 World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championships will each obtain one mixed doubles qualification slot for their National Paralympic Committee.

Tickets

Tickets for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games are available to purchase from Thursday 6 March. No lottery is required.
