Lohja, Finland to host World Junior Curling Championships 2024

The World Junior Curling Championships 2024 will be held in the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland from 17–24 February 2024.

This will be one of three events hosted by the Kisakillio Sports Institute in the 2023–2024 season following the recently signed multi-year deal with the World Curling Federation to host the World Junior-B Curling Championships and the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship.

This is the first time the World Junior Curling Championships will be held in Finland, however Lohja previously hosted the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in 2015 and have also hosted the Junior-B Championships five times since 2016.

World Curling Federation Head of Competitions, Eeva Roethlisberger said, “Lohja have been fantastic partners for the World Curling Federation over the years and I’m delighted that this has resulted in us bringing our World Junior Championships to the Kisakallio Sports Institute.

“The local organisers have a huge experience in running our Junior-B and Wheelchair events and I have every confidence that they will host a fantastic event for our elite junior curlers.”

Local Organising Committee President, Lauri Ikavalko, said, “Kisakallio is very proud to partner with the World Curling Federation to host this and the other events. This event is a concrete example of our success in hosting the qualifying junior and wheelchair championships and highlights our ongoing cooperation and excitement we have for junior curling.”
