Marta Pluta wins World Academy of Sport Scholarship
After a successful application process, Marta Pluta from Poland received a World Academy of Sport (WAoS) scholarship due to WAoS’ partnership with the World Curling Federation.
The partnership between WAoS and the World Curling Federation provides our Member Associations with greater opportunities to learn new skills to help them improve their professional careers and the curling community around them.
World Curling Federation Head of Development, Scott Arnold, said: “We are so pleased that Marta Pluta has received the World Academy of Sport scholarship for the Postgraduate Certificate, International Sports Management at the University of London.
“Marta has participated in international competitions as an athlete and with the WCF as an official. Her knowledge of the sport will serve her well in her studies and I am sure the course will aid her in her continued involvement at all levels of the sport.”
World Academy of Sport scholarship recipient, Marta Pluta, commented on her successful application: “I was really surprised that I’d got this scholarship and I’m very happy that I did. I’m really happy that the course is with the University of London, and I think it will be a great experience for me. With this opportunity, I can study in English, which will actually help me improve my language skills as well. I will do my best to get the most out of this course, and then implement my learnings in my work and life.”
WAoS’ fully online International Federation Education Pathway Programme is from high school to postgraduate education with some of the world’s leading international education institutions. From the last two intakes, there are 88 students in the postgraduate programme representing 24 sports and 41 nationalities. The list of current students — including 11 curlers — can be found here.
