The role of the Technical Commission is to ensure outstanding ice conditions at all World Curling Federation events. The commission also assists Member Associations in improving existing, or building new, dedicated curling facilities.
As part of the commission’s appointments, the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games chief ice technicians have also been chosen. Hans Wuthrich (Canada) will take charge of the Beijing 2022 Olympics, while Mark Callan (Scotland) will be the chief at the Paralympics, which is also in China.
The current members of the commission are:
Chair, Toyo Ogawa (Japan); Greg Ewasko (Canada); Gyorgy Nagy (Hungary); Leif Ohman (Sweden); Stefan Roethlisberger (Switzerland); and Tom Brewster (Scotland).
