Post-game reaction from Norway
After securing a spot in the play-offs, Norway’s Martine Roenning said, “We’re very happy with this result. It’s what we’ve been aiming for this whole week and to be in the play-offs, it feels great.”
On playing Estonia in the qualification game, she added, “I think they looked really solid this whole week, so we got to bring our A game I think. We played them a couple of times. It’s always good games, it’s gonna be a tough one for sure.”

Runback for the win!
After forcing USA to one point in the eighth end, Spain and USA continued playing on to an extra end.
On her last rock, Oihane Otaegi makes the long runback to remove the shot USA rock on the button and sticks there for the win!
Final score Spain 9-8 United States.

Norway into the play-offs!
After a well played end by Norway, Germany doesn’t have a shot to tie the game. Norway wins 6-4 and will play Estonia in tomorrow’s qualification game.

Comeback from Sweden!
After missed runback attempts from Türkiye in the eighth end, Sweden generates a four-ender and defeats Türkiye by a score of 9-8.
Norway lead by two coming home
Germany forces Norway to one in the seventh end with a nice hit and roll.
Norway leads 6-4 without hammer in the last end.
England gets relegated
Austria scores one point in the sixth end and England concedes the game, 8-2.
With this loss, England is relegated to the World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event next season. Austria will have a chance to avoid relegation tomorrow morning against an undetermined opponent.
Switzerland defeats the undefeated
Switzerland score two more points in the sixth end and Japan decide to shake. They defeat Japan 9-1 in six ends.
Switzerland must now wait to see the result of Norway’s game. If Norway wins, Switzerland misses the playoffs. If they lose, Switzerland moves on to the quarter-finals.
Steal of three for Norway
Pia-Lisa Schoell sends a German stone into a pile of rocks in the four foot and it doesn’t go as planned. Norway steal 3 and lead 5-2 after 5 ends.

If Norway defeats Germany, they will join United States and Japan in the playoffs.
A big end for Austria!
Austria put five on the board after the draw attempt from England comes up short. Austria leads 7-1 after 4 ends.
England and Austria and fighting to avoid relegation. The loser of this game is relegated, while the winner plays in a last chance relegation game tomorrow morning against the third-last team in the group.
Switzerland take big 7-0 lead
Japan rolls too far on their hit attempt. Switzerland steals 2 and leads 7-0 after 4 ends.
Germany steals a point after Norway comes up light on a draw
Germany leads 2-1 after 3 ends.
Spain open with 3 against USA
Spain JUST miss the cross house double, leaving the US with a draw for two points, 3-2.

Denmark win and avoid relegation
Denmark won their game in a heroic way against Italy, scoring three with power-play in the eighth.
Italy 9, Denmark 11.
This win means that they qualified their Member Association for next year’s world championship.

Canada win and earn semi-final spot
Canada won their game against Korea by 7-6. This victory means that they finished the round robin on top of the standings in their group and qualified for the semi-finals.
Reflecting on their semi-final qualification, Brent Laing said, “I don’t know where everything is gonna fall, there’s still one more draw, but we are guaranteed to play for a medal now. Obviously, we want that to be the gold medal, but we’re in the semi-finals and that’s pretty cool.”
Australia finishes on a win
Australia’s first curling Olympians, Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt won their last round-robin game of the event by 7-5 over Hungary.
Australia finished their world championship campaign with a 5/4 win/loss record, whereas the young Hungarian team won one game out of nine.
The first winner of the afternoon: Netherlands
Netherlands were up by 8-6 against Estonia, going into the eighth end.
In that end, Netherlands called their power-play and Wouter Goesgens made an exceptional double-take out with his last to sit four. At this point, Estonia conceded the game, making 8-6 the final result.
This was the Netherlands’ fourth win out of nine games, while already qualified Estonia finished on a won seven, lost two record.
Czech Republic steal away the Scottish power-play
Scotland were up by 5-3 after five, when they called their power-play.
Jennifer Dodds had a difficult promotion take-out attempt with her last, which didn’t work out the way she planned it, and Scotland gave up a single.

Korea steal a single in six
Already qualified Canada were leading their game against Korea by 6-3 after five ends. In the sixth, Canada had last-stone advantage, but decided to give up a single steal, as a Korean stone was sitting on the four-foot, perfectly guarded, before Jennifer Jones’ last stone.

Four for the Dutch in five
Netherlands put four on the board in the fifth end against Estonia, partly due to two perfect take-outs by Wouter Goesgens and a great draw by Vanessa Tonoli with her last.

Hungary tie the game in five
Hungary scored a single after a perfectly executed double take-out by Joó Linda with her last.
Australia 4, Hungary 4, playing the sixth.

Denmark score four back
Denmark responded to Italy’s big score of five with putting four on the board in the second end with a precise tap-back by Jasmin Lander.
Scotland take an early lead
Scotland scored a single point in the first end against the young Czech team. In the second, they added three more points on the board, when Julie Zelingrova’s promotion take-out wasn’t successful.
And we are back!
Italy started their game against Denmark in an exceptional way! They scored five in the first end, mostly due to their perfect draw weight early on.

United States earn play-off spot
With their win against Türkiye, United States secured a play-off spot.
After their win, Cory Thiesse said, “Hats off to Türkiye, they played a really great game. We didn’t have a really good start and we kind of fell off a little bit, but I think we were just able to stick with it. And we’re just trying to keep that going forward on our last round-robin game tonight and then in the play-offs.”

Switzerland and United States win close battles
Switzerland won over Germany by 8-7, with United States picked up an 8-7 win against Türkiye.
These victories were crucial for both teams in the hunt for a play-off spot.
Looking ahead of their must-win last round-robin game Yannick Schwaller said, “We have to do our job against Japan, who are unbeaten. We have to be the first to beat those guys, but stranger things have happened.”
Japan win and qualify for the play-offs
Japan won against Spain by 7-5, and this kept their undefeated record intact and earned them a spot in the semi-finals.
After the game, Japan’s Yanida Yasumasa said, “We are very happy. We had a really good performance so far. Not too bad so far. Amazing, amazing feeling.”

Post-game thoughts from Sweden's Robin Ahlberg
After their win over Austria, he said, “It’s really important of course, to try to gain some momentum now at the end of the round robin. We struggled a bit, but this was sure a better game, so it’s really nice. In our last game we try to play as well as we played in this game, we played quite well here, so that’s gonna take us pretty far tonight.”
Türkiye tie the game in six
Türkiye’s Dilsat Yildiz made a precise draw with her last stone of the sixth end to help her team score three from the end.
Türkiye 5, United States 5, playing the seventh.
Two games finish early
Sweden put two more on the board against Austria to go up, 10-2, after six ends. At this point, the Austrians conceded the game.
On Sheet E, Norway had a strong game against England and won by 9-2 in six ends.

Germany tie the game in six
Switzlerland’s Briar Schwaller-Huerlimann wasn’t successful with her double take-out attempt with her last stone of the sixth end, and even though Germany’s Pia-Lisa Schoell also missed her last take-out, the Germans still scored two.

Austria score a single with power-play
Sweden forced Austria to take a single with their power-play in the fifth end.

Japan-Spain: all square
Japan and Spain are tied at 2-2 after three ends.
Japan put two on the board in the first end, and Spain responded with a single in the second. In the third, Matsumura Chiaki’s hit-and-roll attempt wasn’t perfect and Spain stole a single.
Three for the Swiss in the third
After a precise take-out by Briar Schwaller-Huerlimann, the Swiss duo scored three in the third over Germany to go up, 4-2.
Excellent start for Sweden
Sweden started their game against Austria in an exceptional manner. After scoring two in the first, they stole three in the second when Hannah Augustin’s tap-back attempt didn’t work out.

United States score a single after a measure
United States’ Cory Thiesse delivered a perfect double take-out with her last stone of the first end. After a measure, it turned out that it was enough only for a single point. United States 1, Türkiye 0 after one.
