Sweden on a Roll
Swedish skip, Viljo Petersson-Dahl, made a brilliant hit-and-roll for the last shot of the seventh end to score a single and force the Norwegians to concede the 5-1 match.
This is Sweden’s first win of the week and Norway’s first loss. Evidently, anything can happen!

WHAT A SHOT BY KOREA!
Last Session of the Day
It’s that time again! Here are your scores after four:
Korea 5-3 Italy
Canada 6-2 Latvia
Czech Republic 0-4 China
Sweden 3-0 Norway
Japan 4-2 United States
Denmark 3-2 Scotland
Proud Coach
Italian coach, Roberto Maino, spoke earlier today on his feelings about his team’s performance in the World Wheelchair Curling Championship thus far:
“Our work and concentration is very good. Getting our first win today gives us confidence for our next match and hopefully we will have success.”

Warm-UP
Every team has their own pre-game routine, but it’s the teams from United States and Sweden that truly put the up in warm-up.

Denmark, Estonia and Japan looking good
Denmark lead Sweden, 6-3 at the break, but we know in Mixed Doubles anything can happen. Both of these teams are looking for their first big W!
Estonia also look promising to get their first win, against Norway.
Germany (1-1) lead Japan 7-2.
The remaining three games are close battles!
Back in action with Mixed Doubles!
The last Mixed Doubles session of the day will see:
SWE v DEN
NOR v EST
GER v JPN
SCO v CHN
SUI v HUN
ENG v LAT
The Intensity
Face-offs between Canada and United States are always intense, and today’s game is no different. Canada is currently up 4-2, but United States is not backing down!
Update: We're Halfway Through Session 3
Session three of the World Wheelchair Curling Championship is halfway through and the games are getting intense!
On Sheet A, Latvia and China are tied 2-2. China are currently at the top of the standings, but will Latvia disrupt that with a win?
Sheet B is hosting a face-off between Italy and Denmark. Italy is looking strong with a 4-1 lead and two stones in the house. Can Denmark use the hammer to close the gap?
Scotland is dominating the game on Sheet C, not giving Sweden many opportunities to score in their current 6-1 point differential.
Czech Republic and Korea are battling it out on Sheet E, with Czech Republic holding a 5-2 lead.
On Sheet F, Norway and Japan are both trying to maintain their flawless records in the standings, but ultimately only one can win.
There’s still lots of time, so anything can happen!

The Battle of North America
It’s time. Team United States is about to take on on Team Canada in the World Wheelchair Curling Championship. Both teams currently have one win, one loss.
Who will be victorious? Keep following to find out!

Friendship First
It was a nail-biter on Sheet B as Danish player Helle Christiansen made a heavy draw, ticking off a stone on the edge of the four-foot, rolling to bite the button, in an attempt to tie the game against Germany.
Germany also had a stone biting the button, and neither team could tell which stone was closer, so it came down to a measure. The measure revealed that the German stone was closer, so the game went to German teammates, Christiane Putzich and Burkhard Moeller.
After the game, the Danish and German players exchanged handshakes and hugs, proving that friendship comes before competition.

Extra End on Sheet A!
It’s the eighth end. Estonia has hammer and needs to score two to tie… and they do it!
Will Estonia steal the ninth and take the win or will Slovakia use the hammer to take the final point?
Handshakes and Fist Bumps
Win or lose, there’s always time for handshakes and fist bumps!
What Would You Do?
POV: You’re Latvia (red stones). It’s the sixth end and you have a five point lead. You have three shots left, but you don’t have hammer and this is what the house looks like.
What would YOU do?
Halftime Leaders
Halftime is here and the current scores are as follows:
Estonia 2-2 Slovakia
Denmark 4-5 Germany
Sweden 2-5 England
Latvia 5-1 Japan
United States 3-3 Poland
China 5-2 Switzerland
Who's Closer?
Following a last stone draw by the Chinese, the second end of the match between China and Switzerland went to a measurement that resulted in a score of THREE for China.
But don’t worry Switzerland fans! Swiss teammates Beatrix Blauel and Marcel Bodenmann scored one in the first end and one in the third end to make this a close match.

Day TWO Has Begun
Welcome back to Richmond! Today is the second day of competition, and the third session of the World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles is already underway.
In this session, Estonia faces Slovakia; Denmark faces Germany; the Swedish take on the English; Latvia and Japan go head to head; Poland and United States meet; and China takes on Switzerland.
Who are you cheering for?
