Red or Yellow?
A measure was required on Sheet C to determine who scored between Denmark and Czech Republic. In the end, red was closer, so Denmark scored one, bringing the score to 7-6 in Czech Republic’s favour.
Quadruple Steal
Team Canada is showing no mercy to the team from Sweden, stealing in each of the first four ends to take an 8-0 lead!
Neck and Neck on Sheet A
After three ends, the score was 2-2 on Sheet A, in the game between Japan and Korea. As you can see in the clip below, Korea played a great fourth end and scored two to double their score going into the halftime break.
Great Recovery by Denmark
On Sheet C, we have a battle between Denmark and Czech Republic.
The Czech scored three in the first end, followed by a steal of three in the second. That six point lead didn’t frighten the Danish though. They came back in the third end and made a hit to score four!
The score is now 6-4, Czech Republic with hammer.
We're Here Again, It's Session TEN!

Team Huddle
Tonight marks the last session of Day Five and the tenth session of the World Wheelchairs! Ahead of the game, Team Sweden gathered for a team huddle, followed by cheers and high fives.
Sweden face Canada in this draw.
Extra End Between Estonia and Hungary
Despite having an early lead, Hungary was down by one coming home with hammer. While they managed to score the single and take the game to an extra end, the team from Estonia received the hammer for that all important ninth end, and scored three to win.
Half Way
Here are the current scores for Session TEN of the World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles:
Switzerland is down 0-10 to the Scottish team, but are playing their power play to try to gain some momentum.
Hungary is leading Estonia 4-1, but Estonia has a couple stones buried in the twelve-foot, so this score may soon change.
United States and Slovakia are going back and forth on the score board, but thanks to an early score of two followed by a steal of two more, United States currently has a 6-2 advantage.
Finland and Estonia have traded points the entire game and are currently tied at 4-4.
Latvia is leading the Swedish 6-3, but Sweden are currently sitting two stones in the four-foot and have hammer so the score could soon be tied up.
Denmark is ahead of Japan with a 6-2 lead, but the Japanese just initiated their power play, so we’ll have to see if they can capitalize.
Teamwork Makes the DREAM Work
When watching any curling championship on a screen, it’s easy to forget that each team is more than just the players on the ice. The teams here at the World Wheelchairs are bigger than you might think, with coaches, fifth players, physiotherapists, team leaders, and more!
Take a look at just how many people are working behind the ice during each game.
Scottish Stealers
Scotland’s mixed doubles duo is making waves after picking up their first win of the championship yesterday.
In the current session, they have stolen eight consecutive points against the Swiss team. Will their momentum continue or will the Swiss make a comeback?
Practice Preview
Before each game in the World Wheelchairs and Wheelchair Mixed Doubles, the teams get to practice on the sheet on which they will play their respective games. Take a look!
"This Game is Special"
It was an exciting day for USA skip, Stephen Emt, who not only played his 100th game at the World Wheelchairs, but also won it! Emt spoke after the game saying, “Anytime I get a chance to put on a Team USA jersey and represent our country is a blessing and an honour. To do it for 100 games, ten years, and get a W on this game is special.”

Three Teams Qualify for Play-offs!
Teams China, Canada and Korea have qualified for play-offs in the World Wheelchair Curling Championship!
It Could Have Been Worse!
Sometimes giving up two points isn’t so bad.
Team Canada was facing four perfectly placed stones by Team Korea, with little room to score. Canada’s Jon Thurston managed to make a precise draw to cut Korea down to just two. The score is now 6-3 for Korea, but Canada still has two ends to come back.

Fourth End Break
Here are your scores after four!
- Italy 2-9 Sweden
- Latvia 1-3 Czech Republic
- Canada 3-2 Korea
- China 3-1 Japan
- United States 7-0 Denmark
- Scotland 4-3 Norway
Scotland v Norway
It’s a tight game on Sheet F!
Scotland and Norway traded singles in the beginning, until Norway stole two in the third end. Scotland responded in the fourth end however, throwing an open draw to score three.
The lead keeps going back and forth, but ultimately only one team can win. Who will it be?
Sweden Draw for Four
The ninth session of the World Wheelchairs is underway and Sweden have started with a bang!
Having secured the hammer for the first end through the pre-game draw to the button, Team Sweden used their advantage to sink three stones in the house, none of which Team Italy was able to remove. On his last stone, skip Viljo Petersson-Dahl made a draw to the eight-foot to score a fourth point and increase the lead for his team.

Germany make an amazing draw to steal the win!
Make it when it matters! It was looking promising for Latvia, with two shot stones behind a centre guard but on Germany’s last shot they managed to get enough of the four-foot and left Latvia with a challenging long raise to win.
