The Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland will once again host the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship and the World Junior-B Curling Championships.

The wheelchair curling competition will take place from 3–10 November 2022, while the juniors will run from 8–19 December 2022.

The Kisakallio Sports Institute has hosted the wheelchair curling event five times previously — in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021. It held the Junior-B event four times in the past  — in 2016, 2018, 2019 and in January 2022. The last Junior-B event was cancelled midway through the competition due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

World Curling Federation President, Kate Caithness, said: “Lohja has proved to be an excellent host for our events over the years and we are delighted to take two more of our championships to the Kisakallio Sports Institute.

“The organising committee have become important partners and are highly experienced in hosting our events. Most recently, they successfully hosted the inaugural World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2022 and we are in no doubt that they will continue to maintain the high standard they have set when hosting the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship 2022 and the World Junior-B Curling Championships 2022.”

Finnish Curling Association Executive Director, Katja Kiiskinen, said: “The Finnish Curling Association would like to thank the World Curling Federation again for their trust in letting us host more WCF competitions during the coming season. We are very honoured that the WCF wants to continue our long-standing cooperation of competitions hosted in the Kisakallio Sports Institute.

“The Finnish Curling Association would also like to take this opportunity to thank our partner, the Kisakallio Sports Institute for all their work in organising these competitions.”

Kisakallio Sports Institute Sales Director, Lauri Ikavalko, said: “Kisakallio is very excited to host these two great events. We have hosted both competitions previously, so for us it feels that these events are coming back to like a home.

“Our management team has already done preparatory works and I can be sure that we can host both events with great success again.”
