The European Curling Championships 2022 C-Division is about to get underway in Kaunas, Lithuania. The event will begin on Saturday (30 April) and run until Thursday (5 May).
Eight women’s and nine men’s teams will compete for medals and also for promotion to the European Curling Championships 2022 B-Division.
The women’s field consist of Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Ireland, Spain, Ukraine and Wales.
The participating teams in the men’s field are: Andorra, Bulgaria, Croatia, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania and Ukraine.
The event will be played at the Kaunas Ice Palace, a winter sports complex that has hosted numerous national and international sporting events in the past.
Round-robin play will run from Saturday (30 April) until Wednesday (4 May). On Thursday morning (5 May) at 9.30 semi-finals will take place. In these semi-finals the first-placed teams will play the fourth-placed teams, while the second-placed teams will meet the third-placed teams in both genders.
The winners will play in the gold medal games and qualify their Member Association for the European Curling Championships 2022 B-Division. The losers will play in the bronze medal games. All medal games will be played on Thursday afternoon at 15.30.
