Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games playing schedules released

The official playing schedules for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games curling competitions have now been released. Curling will take place in the National Aquatics Centre, also known as the Ice Cube and begins on Wednesday 2 February — two days before the official opening ceremony — and continues until Sunday 20 February.

Mixed Doubles

The Mixed Doubles competition begins at 20:05 on Wednesday 2 February and will see newcomers Australia face fellow Olympic Qualification Event 2021 qualifiers, United States. While reigning World Champions, Jennifer Dodds and Bruce Mouat, representing Great Britain, will face off against World Bronze Medallists, Sweden.

Defending Olympic Champions, Canada, open the defence of their title against Great Britain on Thursday (3 February) morning at 09:05.

The Mixed Doubles competition will feature 13 sessions of round-robin play, until Monday 7 February morning. That will be followed by semi-finals that evening at 20:05.

The Bronze Medal game will take place at 14:05 on Tuesday 8 February, while the Gold Medal final will be played at 20:05 the same day.

Men and Women

The team events at the Games begin at 20:05 on Wednesday 9 February with the men’s competition.

Canada open their campaign against Denmark, who were the final team to qualify for the Games. At the same time, reigning Olympic Champions, United States face ROC, and hosts China take on Olympic Silver Medallists and World Champions, Sweden.

The women’s competition begins on Thursday 10 February at 09:05, with reigning Olympic Champions, Sweden facing off against Olympic Bronze Medallists, Japan. At the same time, World Champions, Switzerland take on Great Britain.

The men and women will each play 12 round-robin sessions. The final sessions will both be held on Thursday 17 February, with the men taking to the ice at 09:05 and the women at 14:05.

The men’s semi-finals will take place at 20:05 that evening and will be followed on Friday at 14:05  with the men’s Bronze Medal game. The women’s semi-final takes place that evening at 20:05.

The men’s Gold Medal final will be held on Saturday 19 February afternoon at 14:05 and is followed that evening with the women’s Bronze Medal game at 20:05.

The women’s Gold Medal final will draw the curling at Beijing to a close on Sunday 20 February at 09:05.
