Statement: Additional positive COVID case detected at European Championships after new round of antigen testing

After an additional round of antigen testing of Local Organiser staff and volunteers who were deemed close contacts of the original positive case, as well as all World Curling Federation officials, one additional individual has returned a positive COVID-19 test result.

That individual is now in isolation and their contact tracing is currently underway. All appropriate steps under the COVID-19 response plan for the championship are being taken, including confirmatory PCR testing.

With the exception of this new positive case, all people tested onsite have returned negative results.

With respect for the privacy of the impacted individuals, no identifying details will be released publicly and no further information will be provided at this time.
