Austria women won bronze after losing the semi-final earlier to Slovenia by 6-3.
In the men’s gold medal final, Slovenia faced Belgium.
Slovenia, skip Jure Culic, third Tomas Tisler, second Gasper Ursic, lead Jost Lajovec – supported by alternate Gregor Verbinc – won the game due to their strong performance in the last two ends.
After six ends, Belgium were leading 5-4, when Slovenia capitalised on their last stone advantage and scored three points in the seventh end. Slovenia managed to steal one more point in the eighth end, eventually winning the game by 8-5.
