The World Curling Federation are delighted to announce that international men’s curling will be returning to Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, with the LGT World Men’s Curling Championship 2022.

The LGT World Men’s Curling Championship 2022 will see 13 elite men’s teams compete for the World Title from 2–10 April 2022 in the 8,000-seater Orleans Arena, close to the famous Las Vegas strip. The Orleans Arena played host to the 2018 edition of this championship and has hosted multiple WFG Continental Cups.

This will be the ninth time the World Men’s Curling Championship has been held in the United States since 1970 — 1970, 1976, 1984, 1987, 1989, 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2018. However, this will only be the second time it has been held on the west coast.

“We are delighted to be returning to Las Vegas with our LGT World Men’s Curling Championship once more. The championship in 2018 was a great success, full of exciting entertainment both on and off the ice,” said World Curling Federation President, Kate Caithness.

“In our Olympic season, where the attention on our sport is dramatically increased, I have no doubts that the local organisers will once again provide a fantastic environment for our elite men’s teams and produce a first-class event for the athletes and curling fans alike.”

“We are honoured to be asked to host the LGT World Men’s Curling Championship again,” said Jon Killoran, Sports Nevada USA Chief Executive Officer. “The World’s Curling Oasis will be ready to welcome the best men’s teams and fans from all over the globe.”

“We’re delighted to welcome the World Men’s Curling Championship back to Las Vegas,” said Steve Hill, LVCVA president and CEO. “It’s an honour to host an event of this calibre. We’re confident the athletes and their fans will find the only-in-Vegas experiences they’ve come to expect, from incredible entertainment to outstanding dining, attractions, spas, outdoor adventure, and more.”

Tickets for the championship, along with “Hit & Stay” Orleans Hotel & Casino accommodation packages will go on sale in early September.

Sweden are the reigning World Men’s curling champions, after winning Gold for the third consecutive championship at the BKT Tires and OK Tire World Men’s Curling Championship 2021 in Calgary, Canada. Sweden secured the first world title in their current three-championship winning streak in Las Vegas, United States in 2018.
