Play-offs set at World Junior-B Curling Championships 2019

The World Junior-B Curling Championships 2019 has just 16 of the previous 43 teams in contention at the conclusion of round-robin play in Lohja, Finland. Teams who advanced to the play-offs will now compete in the quarter-finals.

The top two teams in each group advanced to the play-offs, with an additional two women’s and two men’s teams qualifying based on their Last Stone Draw. Korea and France men qualified via their draws, along with Czech Republic and New Zealand women.

The women’s quarter-finalists are: Italy v Japan, Hungary v Czech Republic, Denmark v New Zealand and Latvia v United States

The men’s quarter-finalists are: Korea v Germany, Sweden v Czech Republic, Japan v France, Italy v Turkey

The men’s quarter-finals are at 13:30 on Tuesday (17 December) and the women’s quarter-finals are at 18:00. The winners of all the quarter-final games will go onto play in the semi-finals at 09:00 on Wednesday (18 December). The gold medal games will be the same day at 14:00.

The World Junior-B Curling Championships 2019, taking place in the Kisakallio Sports Institute, qualifies the final three women’s and three men’s teams for the World Junior Curling Championships 2020 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia (15-22 February).

All times are Eastern European Time, two hours ahead of Universal Coordinated Tine.
