Scottish curling club appointed first World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event host

The new World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event will be played in 2019 at Greenacres Curling Club, near Howwood, in Scotland, from Monday 2 December to Saturday 7 December.

The open entry event will qualify the final four Member Associations for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2020 – this is the first time the world championship has had a qualification element.

The first 16 Member Associations have secured their places, from their finishing position at the world championship in 2019. They are Sweden, Canada, United States, Australia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Japan, Russia, England, Spain, Finland, Hungary, Norway, New Zealand, Scotland and Switzerland.

The World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2020 will be played in Kelowna, Canada from 18 to 25 April 2020.

The World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event 2019 is the first time since 2010 that Greenacres Curling Club has hosted an international curling championship. Previously it has hosted theWorld Senior Curling Championships 2005 and the European C-Division and European Mixed Curling Championships in 2010.
