Following two extra end victories on Tuesday - by 7-5 over Wales and then by 5-4 over Switzerland, the USA top men's Group A, on five wine and one loss. Breathing down their necks are Germany and Scotland, both on 4-1 records after the Scots beat the Germans by 7-2.

In men's Group B, Canada remain undefeated and sit at the top of the ranking on five wins, the most recent of these being their 7-3 victory over France. They are being chased by Sweden, Finland and Ireland. In Tuesday's play Sweden beat Ireland by 8-2, while Finland had an 8-7 win over Slovakia.

The men's Group C table is led by New Zealand who have five wins and no losses, and beat Poland by 9-2. Thanks to their 7-4 win over Slovenia - a bounce-back from their earlier 3-11 loss at the hands of Norway, England share second place with the Norwegians.

In the last game of Tuesday's five draws to be decided, England's women beat the Czech Republic by 8-4 to top their Group A table, ahead of Canada, who they had earlier beaten, by 8-3.

In the women's B Group, Scotland have moved into a clear lead, thanks to their 10-3 win over Russia. The Scots are unbeaten on five wins and sit ahead of Germany and USA. The Germans beat USA by 9-1 when they clashed on Tuesday.
