Standings after Round Robin Junior Men’s Draw 6

Flims, Switzerland – 9 March 2010: Canada, Norway and Scotland top the standings with five wins and one loss following draw 6 of the junior men’s round robin at the World Junior Championships.
Canada set off with a steal three in the first end of their morning game against Denmark and went on to take four in the fourth end and eventually win 11-6. At night Jake Walker’s team had a tighter game against Sweden which went all the way to a tenth end. Swedish Skip Patric Mabergs closely missed his last shot which would have tied the game up and forced an extra end. Canada won 6-5.
It was a second loss of the day for Sweden who went down in the morning 5-6 against Norway.
In a game with an extraordinary ending at night, Russia kept ahead of Norway until the tenth end when fourth Markus Hoeiberg secured four points and a win of 6-4 for the Norwegians.
Earlier the Russian’s had their first win of the event, beating Finland 7-6 in an extra end. Finland had another tight game against Scotland in the evening which went down to the last stone of the tenth end, when Scottish Skip Ally Fraser hit for one and a 5-4 win.
It was Scotland’s second win of the day. They beat China 6-3 in the morning draw. China’s Yansong Ji went on to beat Switzerland 6-5. Both teams are now tied in fourth position in the standings on four wins and two losses.
The United States continued their losing streak going down twice on Tuesday - 5-7 in the morning against Switzerland and then they let Denmark get away early at night and lost 10-4, to leave them without a the only team at the championships without a win so far.
