After winning their sixth game of the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2017, Latvia are the first team to qualify for Friday’s (28 April) play-off games.

This leaves only two more guaranteed qualification places in Group A. The top three teams from each pool will move into the play-offs at the end of the round-robin. Also, the fourth placed team with the best draw shot challenge will qualify.

Latvia beat Estonia 6-4 in the 17th session of round-robin games at the ATB Centre, in Lethbridge, Canada.

A win for Switzerland during this session, 9-4 against Spain, keeps them at the top of Group E. Similarly, Korea won their fifth game from five, against Poland, by 11-1, to stay at the top of Group C.

The remaining games on Tuesday (25 April) afternoon were won by Brazil (14-5 v Croatia) and China (v Australia 7-6).

Results after session 17: Spain 4-9 Switzerland; Brazil 14-5 Croatia; China 7-6 Australia; Estonia 4-6 Latvia; Poland 1-11 Korea
