The Canadian women and USA men won their semi-finals on Saturday evening to proceed to Sunday's gold medal finals.

Both of these finals will be re-runs of the Page 1v2 Play-off games held earlier, with the Canadian women facing the USA and the USA men playing against Scotland.

In the women's semi-final, Canada faced Hungary and dominated the game from the third end when they scored two points for a 3-2 lead. After this they had steals in each of the next four ends to be 9-2 up after eight ends.

Hungary scored two points in the ninth and then conceded the game. Hungary will now play Korea for bronze medals on Sunday morning.

In the men's semi-final, after blanking the first two ends, USA scored two points in the third and were never behind after this. In the ninth end, USA skip Korey Dropkin drew his last stone inside three swiss counters to score one for the 5-2 score that gave his team their win.

Switzerland now face Canada in Sunday afternoon's bronze medal game.

They Said It:

Mary Fay (skip, Canada) after 9-4 win over Hungary: "The final...that's where we want to be. Our first game to today against the USA was a good game, and it was just a couple of shots that allowed them to win. They're (USA) a great team so it'll be a tough game tomorrow, but I think it'll be a lot of fun and we're looking forward to it."

Korey Dropkin (skip, USA) after 5-2 win over Switzerland: "We've had our troubles this season so we had to put our loss to Scotland behind us and get on with this game. It would mean the world to win the gold medal, it'd be a dream come true if possible."
