When the dust settled on play in Friday morning's men's eighth round-robin session, the Page Play-off qualification situation became clearer.

USA beat Turkey by 7-4 to stay at the top of the table, one win ahead of the other three qualifiers. Switzerland beat Scotland by 10-4 to seal a Play-off place, helped largely by a score of four in the third end, and, because of previous wins, the Scots also proceed to the Play-offs.

Canada beat Norway by 4-3 to complete the Play-off quartet, although the top four final rankings among them will only be decided after Friday evening's ninth and final round-robin session.

In the other games, Sweden beat Russia by 7-2 while Denmark had only their second win of the week when they beat Korea, who remain win-less, by 11-3.

With Korea guaranteed a place in next year's World Junior Championships as hosts, the three relegation places will only finally be settled when the round-robin is completed, with Norway, Sweden, Russia, Denmark and Turkey all feeling the pressure.

They Said It:

Rasmus Wraana (skip, Sweden) after 7-2 win over Russia: "We're feeling good about finally getting some points. We hope to avoid relegation but we're disappointed that we haven't really played our best game this week."

Thomas Howell (third, USA) after 7-4 win over Turkey: "We're not quite where we want to be yet. We've still got one more game in the round-robin and we want to get to the top. We're not satisfied yet but it feels good nonetheless. The goal is to beat Switzerland and get to number one. We're going to keep doing the same routine and if we can play the way we've been playing it should work out for us."
