Wheelchair curling event expanded to 12 teams for PyeongChang 2018
Perth, Scotland June 8, 2015The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) confirmed that the wheelchair curling event at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will be expanded from 10 to 12 teams.
The IPC confirmed this expansion following their Governing Board meeting held in Tokyo, Japan
Curling at the Paralympics
The first World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held in January 2002 and in March that year, the International Paralympic Committee granted official medal status to Wheelchair Curling for mixed gender teams.
