Both Denmark and Russia recorded wins in Sunday (22 November) morning's third session of women's round-robin play at the Le Gruyère European Curling Championships 2015 in the Granly Hockey Arena, Esbjerg, Denmark, to stay unbeaten at the top of the rankings.

The hosts, Denmark faced Estonia, and after they went into the fifth end break 6-3 up, Denmark stayed in charge of the second half of the game and won by 9-7.

Russia were up against Germany, and scored two points in each of the first, fourth, sixth and eighth ends on their way to a 9-4 victory.

Two of the five games were over after just six ends - Scotland were 8-1 winners over Finland, while world champions Switzerland beat newcomers Hungary by 12-1, in a game that featured a score of six points by the Swiss in the fifth end.

The fifth game of the session saw Sweden beat close-rivals Norway by 9-4. This means that Norway, like Estonia, are still looking for their first win.

They Said It:

Eve Muirhead; skip, Scotland (after 8-1 win over Finland):

“That was another solid performance after a solid win last night. They struggled a bit, which gave us chances, so as soon as we got a chance, we made sure we'd capitalise on it. You don't want to let your focus go, and this is a cold arena, so when your body's feeling cold you need to make that special effort to stay focussed.”

Alina Paetz; skip, Switzerland (after 12-1 win over Hungary):

"That was a pretty early game, too early for me, but we played well. It's always difficult to play against a team you've never played before, so we didn't know what to expect, but we had a great game. She [Hungarian skip, Dorottya Palansca] struggled a bit with the draw weight and I think that was the key."
