Qualification for the World Wheelchair Curling Championships 2025
Details
World Curling has not yet received confirmation from Italy about the status of the test event for the Paralympic Winter Games 2026. The test event is normally the World Wheelchair Championship the season before the Paralympic Winter Games.
World Curling rules state that one team from the Host Association plus eight Member Associations (excluding the host) from the previous World Wheelchair Curling Championship will qualify. The remaining three teams will be qualified through the World Wheelchair-B Curling Championship.
This means that from the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2024 only the top eight Member Associations are guaranteed entry to the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2025.
The remaining spot can only be determined once we have information on whether Italy will host the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in 2025 as the official test event for the Paralympic Winter Games in 2026 or not.
As soon as this is decided, all World Curling Member Associations will be informed.
